Managing the Business of IT
Charles has spent nearly 20 years studying the business management of information technology. Now as a member of the leadership team for EquaTerra’s IT Practice, he divides his time among three key activities:
- Refining EquaTerra’s service delivery methodologies
- Working with service providers to better understand the marketplace and the ever-changing services landscape
- Managing client engagements to improve the business value of IT support
Charles has participated in dozens of IT outsourcing and internal service delivery improvement engagements and has built new operating models for both infrastructure and applications support. His experience extends to industry-specific functions, such as clinical data management in the pharmaceutical industry. In all cases, Charles has improved both the cost and service delivery effectiveness of the clients with whom he has worked.
As the father of two young daughters, Charles spends the majority of his free time managing their multiple activities. In his spare time, he can usually be found on a tennis court.

Most Memorable Engagements
- A month of sleepless nights in Newark, N.J. resulting in a very solid IT contract renegotiation and an enduring friendship with his lead client there
- An industry-first agreement between a pharmaceutical firm and a service provider to move never-before-outsourced functions into a new leveraged delivery model
- The creation of a completely new network services department for a client who determined that outsourcing of that function was not in line with the company's new strategic direction
