Veteran Utility Professional Joins EquaTerra's AMI / Smart Grid Practice

(October 28, 2009) – EquaTerra, a leading business advisory firm, announced today that Mark W. Everette, a utility industry veteran with deep expertise in Smart Grid economic analysis, strategic business case and program management implementation, has joined EquaTerra’s AMI / Smart Grid Practice. In his new role, he will help guide clients through program implementations and stimulus funding requirements related to Smart Grid initiatives with EquaTerra’s proprietary PMO solution (EquaSiis Enterprise), the leading toolset that clients use for one-stop access to monitor and report complex multi-faceted Smart Grid program implementations.

Everette has developed Smart Grid economic strategies for a wide variety of domestic and international clients, and brings more than 25 years of utility, financial and operational consulting experience covering strategic business planning, enterprise and business unit economic modeling, shared service organization design and process implementation, activity-based cost and performance management systems, business process re-engineering, management audit preparation, and due diligence efforts related to acquisition and divestiture transactions. Mark has been a speaker on such topics as capital asset project management, activity-based cost and performance management, shared service organization development and rate-making. He has also co-authored reports sponsored by the Electric Power Research Institute titled “Case Studies of Activity-Based Costing (ABC) Applications in the Electric Power Industry: Lessons Learned” (EPRI TR-106526). Mark holds both bachelor and master of science degrees in accounting from the University of Illinois.

Prior to joining EquaTerra, Mark worked with the Arthur Andersen and BearingPoint Utility Business Consulting groups through 2004 whereupon he started his own consulting practice.
