Rick Bertheaud

Global Experience

Rick Bertheaud, managing director of Procurement Advisory Services and Shared Services Advisory Services, brings more than 25 years of experience to his EquaTerra clients, including 15-plus years in management consulting, and another 10 years in senior financial management positions in the corporate environment. Rick has experience in a diverse span of industries:  manufacturing, technology, electronics, defense, utilities, pharmaceuticals, retail, consumer products and the public sector.

At EquaTerra Rick has managed both broad-based multifunction engagements and single-function projects in procurement, finance and accounting, as well as HR throughout the process improvement lifecycle. He led the initial Finance and Accounting (F&A ) outsourcing assessment, transaction, and governance design for the North American operation of one of the world’s largest food companies. An outsourcing relationship that became the model for outsourcing on a global basis. In this role, Rick subsequently negotiated an HRO transaction and helped develop and implement a global strategy spanning multiple functions, geographies and delivery models.

Rick led negotiations for a comprehensive procure-to-pay outsourcing agreement on  behalf of a large, regional European bank . He also led the sourcing strategy development and implementation for a large, global pharmaceutical firm’s HR operations, as well as led an assessment of alternative shared service delivery models across all back-office functions for a large North American utility.

Rick joined EquaTerra from Gunn Partners, where he had a hand in designing and implementing leading shared services organization across multiple industries.

Formerly, Rick was a principal at Berkshire Advisors, Inc. and a project manager in the general management consulting unit of Towers Perrin. Rich has worked primarily in the financial arena and held senior positions at ARAMARK, Clark Construction, Inc. and Exxel Container, Inc.

Rick was born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and now lives with his wife, Andrea, and their five children in Hampden, Massachusetts. He admits to being a home-improvement nut since building several additions to the family’s log cabin in Vermont. The cabin is "off the grid and a great place to disconnect,” Rick said.  He also enjoys riding snowmobiles in the winter and carpentry during the warmer months.
