Schwartz charged to help companies understand how to effectively manage their real estate and facilities management outsourcing relationships
Houston (March 15, 2010) – As real estate and facilities management solutions become go-to solutions for leading North American companies, EquaTerra will be poised to meet this growing demand. EquaTerra today announces that long-time real estate and facilities management (RE & FM) expert, Allen Schwartz, will be joining EquaTerra's RE & FM practice to help companies leverage best practices in real estate and facilities management outsourcing.
Schwartz brings more than 20 years of industry, outsourcing and consulting experience to EquaTerra. He previously worked as a managing director of an advisory firm where he was responsible for RE &FM outsourcing engagements. He also has advised global organizations in virtually all aspects of their outsourcing life-cycles.
Ron Walker, the managing director of EquaTerra's RE & FM practice, says that Schwartz's experience will help companies successfully navigate the ever-changing RE & FM terrain.
"Facilities management is one of the largest expenses a company endures next to talent so it has never been more important for a company to carefully evaluate their outsourcing options," he says. "Allen is the just the expert advisor these companies need to help them thoroughly access a variety of real estate and facilities management outsourcing providers, tools and techniques."
Schwartz says that it can be challenging for companies to effectively manage their real estate and facilities management needs due to an ever-changing and growing global marketplace.
"Real estate and facilities management outsourcing historically has centered on what services to outsource; but as the industry evolves and the business world expands, companies have refined their approaches, service providers have broadened their capabilities, and companies are placing greater focus on how to outsource and how to do it well," says Schwartz.
He continues, "How an organization approaches developing a new operating and service delivery model is what truly will impact their bottom lines and will set the stage for their outsourcing relationships and in-house capabilities going forward."
