Houston (September 21, 2010) – EquaTerra today announced that Brian Walker, EquaTerra Managing Director, IT Consulting Services, was named as a Co-chair of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP®) Cloud Computing Chapter. The Cloud Computing Chapter’s goals are to help its members to understand the potential impact of cloud computing; explore how cloud computing can enhance or develop new sources of business benefits from outsourcing; and develop, influence and disseminate best practices on cloud computing to the IAOP membership.

“We are seeing so much confusion among our clients wondering how to evaluate cloud, the evolving capabilities of the provider market and defining realistic expectations on how to use the cloud model in their business,” said Walker. “There is a lot of noise in this burgeoning market, and it is my hope that by serving on this board we can help clients break through the hype and focus on realistic opportunities for the greatest value.”

During his 25 year career, Walker has experience managing large, global organizations across all sides of the IT and sourcing industries, having worked as a client, a supplier and a consultant. This gives him a uniquely pragmatic perspective in advising clients on their toughest IT challenges—in or out of the cloud.

“Brian brings passion and insight to everything he undertakes,” said Peter Iannone, EquaTerra's Executive Director for the Americas. “This, combined with his extensive, real-world IT service delivery experience, will help bring the cloud down to earth.”
