EQUATERRA NAMES 24-YEAR HEWLETT-PACKARD VETERAN NEW INFORMATION |
HOUSTON (September 25, 2007) – EquaTerra today announced Joel Gerston, an Information Technology (IT) expert with 24 years of tenure at Hewlett-Packard (HP), has joined the firm as its IT Advisory Operations Lead. Prior to joining EquaTerra, Joel was HP’s Director of Outsourcing Services, a business unit he co-founded in 1993. In that role, he was responsible for identifying, qualifying, developing, negotiating and structuring high-value IT services and business process outsourcing agreements, most of which were valued at $100 million to $3 billion. He also led cross-functional, global teams, structured complex deal pricing and contract terms, and managed HP Outsourcing Service’s global sales and incentive programs. Earlier in his career at HP, Joel spent several years identifying, assessing and developing acquisitions, equity investments, strategic alliances, outsourcing and joint venture opportunities for the company in Canada, Germany, Italy, Korea, the United Kingdom, and the U.S. Peter Iannone, Executive Director, Information Technology Advisory Services for EquaTerra, said, “When hiring someone of Joel’s caliber, we look for talent that can bring different and varying perspectives and experiences to our clients. Because Joel has led numerous multi-million dollar contract deals on behalf of a leading global service provider, we are confident our clients will reap the benefits of his broad-based knowledge and unique industry perspective. His proven track record in the outsourcing industry will ensure our clients receive the expertise they need to successfully steer through any IT or business process outsourcing deal.” Joel officially joined EquaTerra less than a month after the firm announced that John Tilley, previously European Vice President of Perot Systems, had joined EquaTerra as its European IT practice lead. The knowledge possessed by EquaTerra’s U.S.-based IT team, coupled with that of John Tilley and the IT-focused advisors within Morgan Chambers, which was recently acquired by EquaTerra, provides the marketplace with deep multi-national IT transformation expertise. |
