EQUATERRA CHAIRMAN MARK HODGES WINS PRESTIGIOUS HRO SOURCING ADVISOR OF THE YEAR AWARD AT 2005 HRO WORLD CONFERENCE

NEW YORK (April 29, 2005) —EquaTerra, a multi-national outsourcing and insourcing advisory firm, today announced Mark Hodges, the organization’s Chairman, was named HRO Sourcing Advisor of the Year during the HRO Association’s awards ceremony at the 2005 HRO World conference, held in New York City April 12-15, 2005.  Hodges also won this award during the inaugural HROA awards ceremony in 2004.

Others selected to compete in this awards category included Don Hamill from TPI, Scott Gildner from Gildner & Associates (recently acquired by TPI), and Peter Bendor-Samuel and Michel Janssen, both of Everest Group.

The independent panel of judges honored Hodges with the award due to a number of factors:

  • He is acknowledged worldwide as a founding pioneer of the HRO industry
  • He co-established EquaTerra, the world’s fastest growing sourcing advisory firm, whose HRO practice is globally acclaimed and has advised 20 HR clients since its inception only two years ago
  • He has personally advised on more than 30 HRO deals, with a total deal value of more than $2.5 billion
  • He continues to advise clients on the evolution of the HRO market, often resulting in expanded scope of their HRO relationship.  His HRO clients include notable corporations including Marriott, Goodyear, TXU, Delta Airlines, DuPont, Williams Companies, Unilever and ChevronTexaco
Said Phil Fersht, Vice President of Research for Yankee Group, “"Trusting one's most intimate business processes into the hands of a third-party is a critical decision process for an organization to take, and Mark Hodges has clearly recognized there is a lot more at stake than mere short-term cost-reduction, in order to achieve real business effectiveness gains.  His focus on the business transformation process within both human resources and finance and accounting functions has helped transform this industry as it moves into its second generation phase."
